Another momentous adventure Last week our school had group observation. We visited several places. The one that can hardly be forgotten is the visit to Baduy. It was beyond words. Speechless…they are too many words till I don’t know where to begin. Okay, … how about our first landing. To get to Cicakal Buleud where the outer Baduy lives you have to go to a small town named Ciboleger. The trip to Ciboleger is like riding a rollercoaster. The road is winding and steep. If you are not an expert driver, hehehehe just beware. Some kids could not stand the shaking so, they vomited. Once you arrived in Ciboleger, it means you are ready with the long and energy taking walking because the road you are about to face are so unbelievable for us who used to living in city. Historical Visit Besides visiting Baduy. We also visited the old Banten. Banten used to be the most popular kingdom. It is known till England. Once their representative visited England and they were welcomed exaggeratedly. Banten is famous because it had an international port for trading. People from many countries visited it. Unfortunately there’s disagreement between the father—Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa—and the son—Sultan Haji who collaborated with the Dutch—which lead to the destruction of the palace and the vanquishing the offspring of the royal family. They now spread everywhere. The remnant was unknown back then till recently on the initiative of one person there the digging was conducted. During the old regime, Old Banten was stated to be dead site. So, not like Borobudur temple, the Old Banten remained infamous. The reconstruction was done very slowly.
