Learning Korean with Bin
This is a real test. Introducing my Korean out of nowhere teacher (I met him and I instantly declared him to be my teacher), Lee Bin (이 빈).
This is a real test. Introducing my Korean out of nowhere teacher (I met him and I instantly declared him to be my teacher), Lee Bin (이 빈).
Previously I had other Korean teacher whom I got from my sister’s friend. He tested me reading. Phew! Luckily I passed at that time. He said it’s not that bad. Aki, that’s how I called him, is very eager in teaching me Korean. I got a little awkward when he felt sorry that I had to travel for hours to meet and learn with him. Shouldn’t that be me who felt sorry for disturbing his
staying here to study Indonesian language?
Anyhow, he kept assisting me learning Korean everywhere, that even
when we were in mall and among the crowds. I asked him to speak Korean, so then
I could practice my speaking skill. Most of the times, I got him to repeat his
sentences because I couldn’t grasp them. He was very patient in fulfilling my
request.
One day when I came
to his lodging house, he made me do the test, listening test. For those who
learn Korean here (not in Korea), they will have some difficulties in
distinguishing the pronunciation between 어 and 오, 에 and 애, ㅂ, ㅃand ㅍ, ㄱ, ㄲ andㅋ, ㅆ andㅅ, ㄸ, ㄷ andㅌ, ㅉ, ㅈand ㅊ. Well, that’s the fact at least
for me.
During the test I had to ask him to repeat his words. And the
result I made 5 mistakes from 25 questions. Huh! 진짜 힘들어요
(It’s really difficult) But since I like the language, it becomes a challenge
for me to conquer it. Especially, now I am teaching to the kids. I have to be
able to really master it with or without any teacher. 산산, 항복하지 마.
힘!
화이팅!
