Cibodas

Cibodas is a famous place in Cianjur. Green is all over you. Fresh air and the dew will welcome you once you wake up in the morning. No pollution like what you will get in big cities. It’s very cold at night. For those who can’t stand of cold like me, don’t forget to bring a thick coat or warm sweater for your own comfort. This huge green park fills with old trees and rare ones and other plants that are prohibited to be picked. There’s a fish pond. And actually it has some fish in there. Just look at it closely, you’ll see it. If you happen to live near Cibodas, you don’t need any lodging or sort of, but if you come in groups from other cities far from Cibodas, there’s some lodging where you can rent to stay. The rooms are big and quite many. Ah, if you can’t stand of the cold, there’s hot water in the bathroom. If you bring your bike with you, you can take a tour around the park. Not to forget to visit the waterfall. It’s a bit far from the lodging and you have to go down thr...

Tangkuban Perahu

Have you been to Mt. Tangkuban Perahu? It’s one of the tourist resorts in West Java. It’s a volcanic mountain. On one Saturday my fellow teachers and I went to Tangkuban Perahu for some refreshing. We didn’t go straight to Tangkuban perahu, instead, we stopped at Jayagiri and started to walk from there to get to the mountain. The weather was very cloudy. We were afraid that it would rain soon. Luckily it didn’t. We were able to talk a walk without the rain. Since I brought my digital camera with me, my friends and I never forgot to pose. We always hunted for a good place as our background. We stopped for a while to have our lunch then continued our journey. Finally we arrived at Tangkuban Perahu. It was crowded since it’s Saturday. Many visitors came to have a recreation with their family and friends. When we were having our lunch, it rained heavily. Since we were hungry, rain didn’t stop us from enjoying our lunch. We used umbrellas to protect us. We took ...

Football Club

Hidup Persib! Persib is one of the local football clubs in Bandung. It has been known for many years. Several times it won the football competition in Indonesia. And it also endured the rough times for a quite long time. No victory only some lost. Recently it started to awake from its long sleep. Now the players are not only from West Java but also from other countries and cities. I have never gone to the football stadium all my life. But that day was a special day. My friend told me that Persib was going to do the friendly match again Ulsan Hyundai, one of the Korean football clubs. I have heard the story about the supporters. It’s kind of creepy for me to come. But since it’s going to play against one of the Korean football clubs, I dared myself to come. We came there to see the Korean players. Actually, we had a geeky idea to show up there wearing Hanbok. Somehow the idea was canceled seeing the situation. The supporters are all blue and can you imagine if we show up there usin...

Geologi Tea

This is one of the museums located in Bandung. It is called Geology Museum. The location is exactly beside Gasibu near Lansia Park and Gedung Sate. Every Sunday this museum is very crowded with visitors from other cities. Mostly they are students who are assigned to collect the information from the museum. One more thing, the museum has a building that is rented for wedding ceremony, so once in a while every Sunday you might come a cross Janur (accessory made from coconut leaf as a sign for a wedding ceremony) hanging near the security post. If you are a little bit mischievous, you can just join the ceremony. No one will know that you are uninvited. The bride will think that you are the relatives or friends from the groom and vice versa. At first I thought I have to pay to get in to the museum. So, on one Sunday my friend took me there and it turned out that it is free. You just have to sign the guest book. But I have no info for other than Sunday and for visitors in group. Just chec...

Gasibu

This place looks very crowded, don’t you think? It’s Gasibu. It is located in front of Gedung Sate. On Sunday it changes its function as a traditional market. If you happen to come to Bandung, don’t forget to come. You’ll see many things from food, attire to pet. Actually, Gasibu is used for jogging but since the sellers keep adding, so no more space for jogging. The price is very cheap compared to other places but that you can get if you know how to bargain. Once again the skill of bargain is very useful here. You have to know the trick to get a cheap price. This is my favorite place for recreation. Once a month I usually go with my friends here. Ah, another thing to be informed. Since the place is very crowded, make sure you keep your valuable things safely. You’ll never know maybe there’s a mischievous person next to you ready to snatch your purse. So, what are you waiting…come to Bandung then shop till you drop. Bye. ^^/ Sansan

Gedung Sate

Gedung Sate. It’s one of the old buildings in Bandung. It was built by the Dutch once when they colonized us. Now the building is used as the official office of the West Java Governor. The building is called Gedung Sate because on the top of the roof there’s a thing which looks like Sate, one of the names of the food in Indonesia. You want to know more or curious about Gedung Sate, just come to Bandung and check it out by yourself. Next to enjoying the old buildings in Bandung you can also check out the food and the outlets. Nowadays Bandung is famous for the food and the outlets. I guarantee you’ll get addicted with the food and the shopping. Have a good trip to Bandung. ^^/ Sansan

Old Hanbok

What are those? Can you guess? Those are Hanbok. Hanbok is Korean traditional dress. It’s very beautiful, my favorite kind of dress. In fact, I love to wear for special occasion. So far, I have worn hanbok at the school graduation and my friend’s engagement party. I plan to wear it to a wedding party. By wearing it, I feel really special. People start to stare. Hehehe…that’s why I feel special. Now, I will explain a bit about hanbok. But I am not an expert so I took the information from the internet, www.korea.net . the hanbok worn by women as everyday attire consists chiefly of the following: a dress ( jeogori ), a skirt ( chima ), and undergarments, such as an undershirt ( sokjeogori ), under pants ( gojaeng-i ), inner skirt ( sokchima ) and socks ( beoseon ). Men's hanbok are made up of jeogori, pants ( baji ), an overcoat ( durumagi ), vest, outer coat ( magoja ) and socks ( beoseon ). Western accessories such as shoes and handbag are also used. The ha...
