Here came our trophy after such a long break


These past two weeks were really hectic. There was no other word beside practice and quiz questions. The preparation for the Quick and Smart made all of us lack of sleep. After such a long break for joining quick and Smart competition (say, it might take 3 years) we finally could take part again. This time of course we didn’t have Upi, Needa, Rifki or Jawa. They are all now university students. The awakening happened when we got the invitation to join the competition. Actually, I was hesitated since I hardly know their skill. My mistake, I know. I mean I should have urged the students to make such competition in school, so it will be easy to choose which kids should join the competition. Anyway, for the last two weeks we’d been practicing really hard. I was quite upset because I didn’t reinstall the Encarta encyclopedia in my computer. It has good quiz questions for practicing. Honestly, I used the questions which were used in 2004 for the 2nd team selection and English Quick and Smart held by our school. Then I managed to search through the internet to get some source for my questions.

Our hard work really paid off. One of our teams went to the final and got the second place. When the kids told me that the questions were mostly the same like the question I gave them I was surprised. But they were right. The type was the same even some questions I gave to the kids came out there.
Yet, we had some complaints concerning the competition. I mean it was more or less disappointed. The time schedule, the rules and the show are mostly our main concern. I mean, what’s with the rules that didn’t allow the spectators to watch during the preliminary round. The worst part was they used the same questions for each groups. No mic and inconvenient bell. Hopefully, by the time we join the competition there again, they have fixed those inconveniences.
Here are the kids before the nerve cracking. Honestly, by the time came I was really nervous. I mean it’s not my show but I got the stomachache and the weary feelings.
Our relief faces after we played the game and won the second place.
Lunch time everyone since we had to go back to the place at 2.30 pm for getting our trophy and prize which is still hazy.
The waiting for the closing (ugh it took hours. I mean from 10.30 am till 2.30 pm. So, we decided to just visit Gramedia, the trophy and the mysterious prize which we’d get, only they who knew.
Finally, we could see our trophy, hold it and also we at last knew what our prize was.

Dora the Explorer Dan Oreo Termahal Badan pegal – pegal karena terpenjara selama lebih dari lima jam. Ditambah lagi harus berhimpitan di kerumunan manusia saat festival. Begitu masuk ke dalam  subway , yang pertama kali ingin kulakukan adalah tidur. Ah leganya ketika kulihat ada kursi kosong yang bisa kududuki. Enaknya bisa selonjoran untuk mehilangkan rasa pegal di kaki. Rupanya ketika aku tertidur, muridku iseng mengambil foto diriku yang sedang tertidur. Refleks aku terbangun. Begitu tersadar, tiba – tiba muncul seorang anak kecil bersama ibunya. Mereka berdiri tepat di hadapanku. Harusnya aku beri kursi itu pada mereka tapi ada sedikit kebingungan soal memberi tempat duduk di Korea atau di Jepang. Terkadang para orang tua menolak tawaran tersebut. Terlebih lagi jika kita menawarkan kursi itu pada orang yang masih muda. Salah satu alasan yang kutahu adalah mereka tak ingin terlihat seperti orang tua. Maka, tak heran jika beberapa orang tua pun terkadang menolak diberi ...

Naga Bonar Jadi 2

Baru-baru ini aku dikejutkan oleh film Indonesia. Sudah lama setelah Jomblo aku ga nonton film Indonesia lagi (abis yang berkeliaran banyaknya hantu2 mulu sih). Jomblo keren banget. Akhirnya ada film yang bikin aku ngakak bukan ketakutan ga karuan. Tapi tetep novelnya lebih bikin aku ngakak (aku ketawa2 sendirian di bis). Sekarang ada film keren yang lain. Isinya lebih mantap. Di film ini aku bisa merasa sedih, lucu, malu dan miris. Dedi Mizwar keren banget. Sebelum ini ada juga film Indonesia yang keren. Kalo ga salah judulnya simbol. Itu tuh yang ada ayam jagonya. Tokoh anaknya dan temen2nya kayaknya kalah keren sama tokoh bapaknya, Naga Bonar. Trus masih lebih keren juga dari tokoh supir bajaj, polisi dan tukang karpet (Indra Birowo). Pemain yang lainnya aktingnya masih harus lebih diasah kayaknya (sok banget aku). Film ini aku masukan dalam kategori must see movie. Yang ga doyan film Indonesia, kamu mesti check yang satu ini.
