Here came our trophy after such a long break
These past two weeks were really hectic. There was no other word beside practice and quiz questions. The preparation for the Quick and Smart made all of us lack of sleep. After such a long break for joining quick and Smart competition (say, it might take 3 years) we finally could take part again. This time of course we didn’t have Upi, Needa, Rifki or Jawa. They are all now university students. The awakening happened when we got the invitation to join the competition. Actually, I was hesitated since I hardly know their skill. My mistake, I know. I mean I should have urged the students to make such competition in school, so it will be easy to choose which kids should join the competition. Anyway, for the last two weeks we’d been practicing really hard. I was quite upset because I didn’t reinstall the Encarta encyclopedia in my computer. It has good quiz questions for practicing. Honestly, I used the questions which were used in 2004 for the 2nd team selection and English Quick and Smart held by our school. Then I managed to search through the internet to get some source for my questions.
Our hard work really paid off. One of our teams went to the final and got the second place. When the kids told me that the questions were mostly the same like the question I gave them I was surprised. But they were right. The type was the same even some questions I gave to the kids came out there.
Yet, we had some complaints concerning the competition. I mean it was more or less disappointed. The time schedule, the rules and the show are mostly our main concern. I mean, what’s with the rules that didn’t allow the spectators to watch during the preliminary round. The worst part was they used the same questions for each groups. No mic and inconvenient bell. Hopefully, by the time we join the competition there again, they have fixed those inconveniences.
Here are the kids before the nerve cracking. Honestly, by the time came I was really nervous. I mean it’s not my show but I got the stomachache and the weary feelings.

Lunch time everyone since we had to go back to the place at 2.30 pm for getting our trophy and prize which is still hazy.
The waiting for the closing (ugh it took hours. I mean from 10.30 am till 2.30 pm. So, we decided to just visit Gramedia, the trophy and the mysterious prize which we’d get, only they who knew.
Finally, we could see our trophy, hold it and also we at last knew what our prize was.
